So, from what I understand the 20% project requirements are thus:
- A brainstorm with at least two topic options and 10 inquiry questions per topic.
- The project must have 1. An opportunity for failure, 2. A knowledge component, 3. A play component, and 4. A making component. I must also learn something using technology.
- I must be able to reflect on my learning via technology and be able to have a final recorded reflection.
- It also needs to have a specific, measurable goal and cannot be learned only from a book.
With these requirements in mind, I started thinking about what I want to learn.
1. How to play the violin
3. How to dance well (I'm not seeing this as a "work out" option since my goal is not to exercise __ days per week, it's to actually learn specific dance moves and improve as a dancer overall)
4. How to vlog
5. How to eat healthily when constantly on the go
Now, I do not have a violin. And they are expensive. So, this will have to be saved for when I retire.
BUT, dancing, and eating healthily while on the go are all things I don't know how to do and I've never vlogged before in my life.
So...
10 inquiry questions for these:
For Dancing...
- How can I learn specific hip hop dances? (I'd pick maybe 3-5.)
- What are the best warm ups for learning how to dance?
- Who are the dancers I want to emulate?
- How did these dancers get to be so good?
- What makes a great dancer?
- Can knowing how to do the Charleston help me with other dances?
- Can having a piano background help me with dancing?
- What type of muscles can dancing help develop?
- Can dancing affect my mood in a positive way?
- Will dancing stimulate any part of my brain and help me in other areas of my life?
For Healthy Eating...
- What foods are healthy and easy to carry around?
- What healthy foods can work for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
- How can you not get sick of eating the same food for weeks?
- What amount of each food group do you need to eat to be healthy?
- What healthy foods are stress relievers?
- How can I find time to prepare healthier meals?
- What foods do I typically eat that are not healthy?
- Which impacts me more--carbs or sugar?
- Which foods give me the most energy?
- What foods could I eat when I get hungry during the day?
For Vlogging...
- How do you run a good vlog?
- How do you come up with good vlogging ideas?
- How do you get over the fear of seeing yourself on camera and hearing your own voice?
- Could this help me be more comfortable being videoed for the edTPA?
- What background and camera angles are best for vlogging?
- How do you add text and animation to vlogs?
- How do you get followers when starting a new vlog?
- Does having a vlog make you narcissistic?
- How do you make money off of a vlog?
- How often do you have to vlog in order to get a following?
- Where did the first vlog come from?
Now, I just have to choose one! I'm pretty interested in vlogging but the dancing one could also be fun and I'd be getting exercise at the same time. The healthy eating one is more practical, but might be a bit more difficult to be invested in for several weeks.
After picking, one I'll be able to define my specific learning outcome.
So, comment below--which one should I choose and why?
Thanks!
